Instruction For Authors

The Flower Research Journal, an international open access journal published 4 issues per year by the Korean Society for Floricultural Science, reports on advanced scientific aspects of flower crops.

PUBLICATION POLICIES
Manuscript Submission: Manuscripts should be submitted online through our website http://www.subijfs.org (e-mail: kafid@hanmail.net) and should be submitted by the corresponding author. Membership in the society is a requirement for publication; authors should be urged to consider becoming a member. A membership registration form is shown in website http://www.ijfs.org.

Editorial Policy
Manuscripts submitted for publication should contain no materials that violate any copyright. Submission of a manuscript to Flower Research Journal involves the tacit assurance that no similar paper has been or will be submitted for publication in other journals. It is the responsibility of the authors, not the Flower Research Journal, to determine whether disclosure of their material requires the prior consent of other parties and to obtain that consent. Statements and opinions given in work published by Flower Research Journal are the expressions of the authors. Responsibility for the contents of published papers rests upon the authors, not the Flower Research Journal.

Publication Type
The Flower Research Journal comprises following fields of articles: original research articles, review articles, technical reports, and new cultivar introduction. An original research article represents an original, important contribution to crop breeding and genetics. The manuscript should clearly state the scope and purpose of the research work. The information presented must be objective and well organized, and the conclusions should be adequately supported. Review articles should be a critical evaluation of the existing state of knowledge on a particular aspect of flower crops. Simple literature surveys will not be accepted for publication. New cultivar introduction reports should be brief descriptions of newly developed cultivars that offer definite advantages in research or practice in flower breeding and genetics.

Subject Matter
Flower Research Journal is a quarterly publication of papers of original work (or results) which can contribute to any aspect of fundamental and applied research on floricultural crops and their related products. The essential contents of manuscripts must not have been published in other refereed publications. Submission of a manuscript to the journal implies no concurrent submission elsewhere.

Review Policy and Procedure
All manuscripts must be submitted in English or Korean with English abstract. Manuscripts submitted for publication must be reviewed by more than two reviewers (internal review process) andrevised. Submitted manuscripts that do not conform to the Flower Research Journal standards will be returned to authors for correction. A manuscript number is assigned to each manuscript, which will be sent to the corresponding author. Always refer to the manuscript number in all correspondence thereafter. Submitted manuscripts are reviewed by more than three reviewers. Reviewed manuscripts are sent back to the corresponding author along with comments from reviewers. Some revision is usually necessary after the reviews, and final acceptance generally depends on extent of revision. In submitting revised manuscripts, authors are requested to submit explanations on how the revisions were made and the reason why they do not agree with the reviewers for those points on which they have no revision. A manuscript is considered withdrawn, if the author has not responded in 3 months to a request for revision. The corresponding authors will be notified for acceptance.

Procedure after Acceptance
Accepted manuscripts must be submitted online through our Website: http://www.subijfs.org (e-mail: kafid@hanmail.net). Preparation of manuscripts with Microsoft Word is desirable; other word processing packages are not acceptable. Galley proof is sent to the corresponding author. Authors must proof read carefully, correct if necessary and make a form 'Copyright Transfer Statement', and then, return to the KSFS as soon as possible. Authors will be charged for any major alterations they make in the page proofs that are not the error of the editors. Proof Reading: The page proof stage is not a time for extensive corrections, additions, or deletions. It is advised that editing be limited to the correction of typographical errors, incorrect data, and grammatical errors, and for updating information on references that had been in press. The corrections to page proofs should be sent immediately back to the editorial office (e-mail: kafid@ hanmail.net) by e-mail within 48 hours.
